Loro Piana Summer Walk: history, versions, sizing and price, the full guide
The Loro Piana Summer Walk is that suede loafer with a white sole you've been seeing everywhere since the quiet luxury wave. Here's its story, the versions that exist, how to pick your size and what to expect on price, in store and on Yupoo.
The story of the Summer Walk
Loro Piana is an Italian house founded in 1924 in Quarona, Piedmont, by Pietro Loro Piana. For a long time its business was fabric: wool first, then cashmere. The Loro Piana family had already been working with wool since the 19th century. Since 2013, the brand has been part of the LVMH group.
The Summer Walk came out in 2005, in the house's white sole shoe line. According to Loro Piana, the idea came from Sergio and Pier Luigi Loro Piana's love of sailing: a shoe made for a boat deck, with a flexible sole that grips and leaves no marks on the wood.
For years it stayed a quiet model. It really took off from the late 2010s, when the brand started pushing it, and then with the quiet luxury trend: luxury without logos, recognised by the material rather than the name. The press even nicknamed it the billionaire's loafer.
The versions that matter
| Version | What changes | Good to know |
| Suede Summer Walk | The core model: soft suede, white rubber sole | The best known version, in lots of colours (beige, black, navy, mustard…) |
| Braided suede Summer Walk | Upper in woven suede | Pricier than the core version |
| Summer Charms Walk | A small cord with charms on top | A more decorative take on the same loafer |
| Women's versions | Adapted shape and sizes | Same white sole, colours sometimes different |
Which size to pick
Loro Piana sells its shoes in EU sizes, with half sizes (41, 41.5, 42…). For the Summer Walk, opinions differ: some retailers say it runs a bit small, while some buyers say a boutique told them to go half a size down. The reason is simple: suede stretches over time, and a loafer has no laces to tighten it.
- Narrow or normal feet: start from your usual size. If you're between two, the smaller one will hold better once the suede relaxes.
- Wide feet or a high instep: stay on your usual size, don't go down.
- When new, the loafer should hold your heel without squeezing your toes. If it already feels loose at the first try, it will be looser after a few weeks.
- If you can, try it in a store before ordering elsewhere. Otherwise, measure your foot in centimetres and compare with the seller's size chart.
Summer Walk price in 2026
On Loro Piana's official French site, the suede Summer Walk costs around €890 in 2026, with a few colours slightly cheaper. The braided suede version goes up to around €1,200. Prices change with seasons and countries.
If you look for it on Yupoo, you'll see very different prices from one seller to the next. On Yupa, we show the price each seller lists, converted to euros, without changing it. We don't sell anything: the link always takes you to the seller's album. To compare two listings, look closely at the photos, check the album's size chart, and add shipping and customs costs (all explained in /guides/douane-colis-chine).
Also keep in mind that the model name in an album title tells you nothing about where the item comes from. An official Loro Piana pair is bought in a Loro Piana store or from an authorised retailer. What the law says about branded items is summed up in /blog/yupoo-fiable-legal.
| Version | Official store price (around, 2026) |
| Suede Summer Walk | around €890 |
| Braided suede Summer Walk | around €1,200 |
Finding it on Yupoo with Yupa
Yupoo has no global search: every store is separate. Yupa goes through the public catalogues of many stores at once and shows you the listings in one place. Search tips in detail are in /blog/chercher-sur-yupoo.
- Type Summer Walk or Loro Piana Summer Walk in the Yupa search. Also try loafer if the seller used a vague title.
- Filter by type (shoes) and by size to keep only what can fit you.
- Compare several stores: price in euros, photo quality, whether there's a size chart.
- Open the seller's album to see all the photos and the details they give themselves.
- Write down the album reference before contacting the seller or your agent.
How to wear it and look after it
The Summer Walk is worn barefoot or with no-show socks, with chinos, linen trousers or straight jeans cropped at the ankle. The idea is to show a bit of ankle. In summer, shorts and a linen shirt are all you need.
As for care, suede doesn't like rain. Use a suede protector spray before the first wear, brush it with a suede brush once it's dry, and keep it on shoe trees so it holds its shape. The white sole cleans up with a damp cloth.
Does the Loro Piana Summer Walk run big or small?
Opinions differ. Suede stretches over time, so many people take their usual size, or half a size down with narrow feet. With wide feet, stick to your usual size.
