Yupoo search: how to find an item without losing your evening

Searching Yupoo usually means twenty open tabs, scrolling through hundreds of albums and giving up. The site was never built for it. But with a few habits (the right keywords, categories, image search) you can go a lot faster. Here is what actually works.

Why Yupoo search is so frustrating

Yupoo is a photo host, not a shop. Every seller has their own account, and there is no search bar that looks through all stores at once. If you do not know which store to check, you start from nothing.

Even inside a store, search only looks at album titles. Those titles are written by the seller, often in Chinese, sometimes just an internal code like “A123” and nothing else. If your word is not in the title, the album does not exist as far as search is concerned.

Searching inside a store

On a store page (address like storename.x.yupoo.com) there is a search bar at the top. A few habits to get something out of it:

  • Start with one short, broad word (“hoodie”, “jacket”) rather than a full phrase.
  • If nothing comes up, run the same search in Chinese using the table below.
  • Try the model name alone without the brand, or the other way round: sellers abbreviate a lot.
  • If you saw an item code somewhere else (a forum, another album), type it exactly.
  • Try spelling variants: “tee”, “t-shirt” and “tshirt” do not return the same results.

Chinese keywords that unlock everything

A lot of titles are in Chinese. You do not need to speak it: a few characters are enough. Copy and paste them straight into the store's search bar.

When you see 尺码 or 尺码表 (size chart) in an album, read the centimetres carefully: Chinese sizes often run small. Our guide /guides/tailles-chinoises explains how to read those charts.

Using the store's categories

Most stores group their albums into categories, reachable through a menu or tab often labelled 分类 (categories). Sellers sort by product type, by brand, or both.

This often works better than the search bar, especially when titles are unreadable. Open the right category and scroll through the photos instead of the titles.

One more trick: albums are usually listed newest first. If you are after something recent, the first few pages are enough.

Reverse image search

Got a picture of the item (an Instagram screenshot, a friend's photo, an image from another site)? Image search is often the quickest way back to a seller.

  • Google Lens: handy to find the exact model name, which you can then type into a store.
  • Yandex Images: often good at finding product photos that come from Chinese sites.
  • The photo search in the Taobao and 1688 apps: it gives you Chinese listings directly, with a link to paste into an agent.
  • Crop the image to the item only, without the background or the person wearing it.
  • Use a sharp, front-facing photo on a plain background: that is closest to what sellers upload.

Does Google work?

You can try a search like site:x.yupoo.com followed by your keyword. It sometimes turns something up, but Google only indexes a small share of albums, and not always the newest. Use it as a fallback, not as your main method.

Reading an album once you find it

Finding the album is half the job. Before you save it, check three things.

  • The price: often in the title or description, in yuan (¥ or 元). Divide by roughly 8 for a ballpark in euros, the exact rate moves.
  • Available sizes, and the 尺码 chart if the seller included one.
  • The Weidian, Taobao or 1688 link, or the seller's contact, so you can order through an agent (steps in /guides/commander-sur-yupoo).

Searching every store at once

The real problem with Yupoo is that you need to know where to look. That is exactly what Yupa fixes: a search engine over the public catalogues of about 218 Yupoo stores, roughly 480,000 items with a price.

Type “puffer” or “hoodie” in English or French and you see results from every store at once, with the seller's price already converted to euros and a link to their album. Members also get size advice from their measurements and the /quand-commander calendar to avoid the periods when parcels crawl. We sell nothing and take no commission. You can try it free for three days.

How do you search on Yupoo?

Open the store you are interested in and use the search bar at the top of its page. It only searches album titles, so try short words, in English and then in Chinese (卫衣 for hoodie, 鞋 for shoes, 包 for bag).

Can you search all of Yupoo at once?

Not on Yupoo itself: every store has its own search. To search many stores at once you need an outside tool like Yupa, which covers about 218 stores.

How do I find a Yupoo item from a picture?

Crop the photo to the item, then run it through Google Lens, Yandex Images or Taobao's photo search. You will get either the model name or Chinese listings directly.

Why does Yupoo search return nothing?

Usually because the album title is in Chinese or just a code. Search again with the Chinese word, or browse the store's categories (分类) and look at the photos.

How do I see the price of a Yupoo item?

The price is usually in the title or description, in yuan. Sometimes it is missing and you have to ask the seller. On Yupa, every indexed item has a price converted to euros.
