Yupoo 11.11 sale: only 4 listings out of 1.57 million mention it

The short answer

11.11 falls on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, but the sales started in mid-October on Taobao, Tmall and JD. On Yupoo, almost nothing moves: on November 1, 2026, only 4 titles out of the 1,571,021 listings Yupa follows mentioned 11.11, and none wrote 双十一 or 双11. 93% of buy links lead to Weidian, a different platform: for those items, don't count on Taobao and Tmall coupons. What is 11.11?

In China, November 11 started as “Singles' Day” (光棍节), created by university students in the 1990s. Alibaba turned it into an online sales day in 2009 to promote its new platform Taobao Mall, now Tmall. That year, only 27 merchants took part.

In Chinese it's 双十一 (“double eleven”) or 双11. In English, “Double 11” or “Singles' Day”. Today Taobao, Tmall and JD stretch it into several weeks of sales.

The 2026 calendar

In 2026, 11.11 falls on a Wednesday, but the sales started in mid-October. Tmall expected a record one million brands. Times are Beijing time:

1. October 12, 2026, 8 p.m. JD opens its 11.11 sales across all categories, with items in stock (现货).
2. October 15, 2026, 8 p.m. Taobao and Tmall open presales (beauty, clothing…).
3. October 20, 2026, 8 p.m. Tmall starts the main sale; the balance on beauty presales can be paid from that time.
4. November 11, 2026, midnight 11.11 sales end on Taobao at the end of the day.

How platform discounts work

On Taobao and Tmall, an 11.11 discount stacks in layers: the brand's discount, then the platform's coupons (消费券). For 2026, Tmall advertised prices “低至 7.2 折”. In China, “7.2 折” means you pay 72% of the price: 28% off at best. Adding other aids (category coupons, state subsidies, Taobao's virtual coins), some products went down to “5 折”, half price.

• 满减, the threshold discount: “满480减60” means ¥60 off once you spend ¥480. That's the example given in 2026 for the coupons of Tmall's 88VIP members: by “inflating” it (膨胀), you could pick ¥75 off from ¥600, ¥100 off from ¥800 or ¥125 off from ¥1,000 instead. At every level, that's 12.5%.
• 定金 and 尾款, the presale: you pay a deposit (定金), then the balance (尾款) on a set date. In 2026, Tmall replaced deposit coupons with a “免定卡”, a card that waives the deposit on one presale item. For the beauty presales opened on October 15, the balance was due on October 20 at 8 p.m.
• The deposit trap: under Taobao and Tmall presale rules, as the agent Superbuy reminds its users, once the deposit is paid, cancellation, deposit refunds, no-reason returns and size or color changes may be refused.

All of this applies to items sold on Taobao and Tmall. For a Weidian item, don't count on these coupons: more on that below.

What we measured on Yupoo

Yupa reads the public albums of 222 Yupoo shops. On November 1, 2026, ten days before 11.11, that was 1,571,021 listings. We searched every title for 11.11 and sale words, in Chinese and in English, then checked random titles by hand for each word.

4 titles out of 1,571,021

4 titles mention 11.11, in 2 shops. Three are in the same shop, in albums opened in 2017 and 2019 judging by their number. The fourth, “Double 11 Sale”, was posted on October 24, 2026 by another shop. No title writes 双十一 or 双11, the words Chinese shoppers use. Black Friday does no better: 4 titles, in 2 shops.

And sale words don't always mean a sale:

• 特价 (“special price”): 375 titles, in only 12 shops, 5 of which account for 292. It's a shop label: none of these titles mentions 11.11.
• 优惠 (“discount”): 203 titles in 3 shops, 190 of them with the same stock phrase, starting with “限时优惠” (“limited-time offer”), in 2 shops.
• 秒杀 (“flash sale”): 109 titles in 7 shops, but 104 use it figuratively, as in “crushes everything sold elsewhere”. Only 5, in a single shop, announce a real flash sale.
• 福利 (“perk”): 50 titles in 10 shops, sometimes for a low price, sometimes as a plain sales pitch.
• “Singles Day”: 19 titles, but it's a nickname for sneaker colorways, not the festival. Same for the 3 titles that write 光棍节.
• 清仓 (“clearance”): 1 title.

No spike in new albums around November 11

Another clue: if shops were gearing up for 11.11, they'd post more albums just before. Yupa has recorded the posting date of only 469,782 listings, or 29.90% of the catalog. On that dated part, 2025 shows no spike: 3,093 albums in the week of November 8 to 14, against 3,423 and 3,703 in the two weeks before.

2024 is irregular: 2,613 albums from November 1 to 7, 1,412 in the 11.11 week, then 4,014 the week after. Nothing that lines up with the big day.

93% of buy links go to Weidian

When a Yupoo seller gives a link to buy, it's almost always Weidian. On November 1, 2026, 386,471 listings had a buy link: 359,587 to Weidian (93.04%), 26,580 to Taobao (6.88%) and 304 to an agent's website, where we couldn't check which platform the item comes from. Agent links that contain a Weidian page count as Weidian.

Does Weidian run an 11.11?

Weidian is not an Alibaba platform: it was launched by a Chinese company, Koudai, whose 2014 funding round was co-led by Tencent. 11.11 coupons are handed out by Taobao and Tmall for items sold on their own sites. We found no rule that lets you use them on a Weidian page, so don't count on it.

We looked for an official Weidian announcement for 11.11 2026 and found none. Our data points the same way. Between October 21 and November 1, 2026, right in the 11.11 period, Yupa reread the titles of 223,016 Weidian pages, linked to 338,001 Yupoo listings: none mentions 11.11, 双十一 or 双11. A seller can always make a gesture, so ask, but don't count on a platform discount.

And at the shopping agents?

On November 1, 2026, we opened the public home page of ten shopping agents, without an account. Several didn't load (maintenance, blank page). Only one mentioned 11.11: Superbuy, in a notice dated October 28, 2026. And it isn't a promotion, it's a list of precautions for the Taobao and Tmall 11.11:

• send your orders 1 to 2 days early, and pay presale items in full in advance;
• on November 11 (Beijing time), no refund or return requests: they're handled from 9 a.m. on the 12th;
• on the day itself, some coupons may not be available and Tmall allowances can't be used, because of limits on the Taobao accounts their buyers use and the flood of orders;
• after-sales requests sent between 6 p.m. on November 9 and 24:00 (midnight at the end of) November 12 are handled from 9 a.m. on the 13th, with a reply within 72 hours;
• sellers may ship more slowly, and warehouse check-in may be delayed.

Remember the third point: even for a Taobao item, going through an agent doesn't guarantee 11.11 discounts. Ask yours before ordering. We don't recommend any agent here and we take no commission.

Longer delays: what China's postal figures say

11.11 is first of all a mountain of parcels. According to China's State Post Bureau (国家邮政局), from October 21 to November 10, 2024, courier companies collected about 12.08 billion parcels, over 550 million a day, with a peak of 729 million handled in a single day. In 2025, from October 21 to November 11: 13.94 billion parcels, 634 million a day on average, or 117.8% of the usual volume, and a peak of 777 million in a single day. The two periods aren't the same length, so don't compare the totals.

For you, it means the seller ships later to your agent's warehouse, QC photos arrive later and customer service answers more slowly. So your parcel also leaves later for Europe. Customs and fake texts

11.11 changes nothing about customs rules. The full, up-to-date calculation is in Customs on parcels from China in 2026: €3 duty, €2 fee, VAT, worked out: we won't redo it here.

Watch out for text messages, though. Cybermalveillance.gouv.fr, France's public victim-support service, notes that online shopping scams multiply, particularly during promotional periods. It reminds you that a delivery company will never ask you to pay by text or email to receive a parcel. In France, a suspicious text is forwarded to 33700. Crossed-out prices: what the rules say

A big crossed-out price on November 11 doesn't prove a real discount. In China, the price display rules (明码标价和禁止价格欺诈规定, in force since July 1, 2022) say that a crossed-out price with no other detail must not exceed the lowest price the seller charged, in the same place, in the previous 7 days. They also ban raising a price just before a discount without good reason, and class fake discounts as price fraud.

In Europe, the “Omnibus” directive follows the same logic over 30 days: a trader announcing a price reduction must show the lowest price charged in the previous 30 days. But the only real protection is the price you noted yourself.

What we suggest before the 11th

• Note the price now: the album price and the Weidian or Taobao page price, in yuan. On the day, you'll know if the discount is real. With Delivered price calculator, you see what the item will cost delivered to you, agent included.
• Don't wait for the 11th for a Weidian item: we found no platform coupon worth waiting for, and delays get longer.
• For a Taobao item, check whether your agent can use 11.11 coupons: some warn they can't, or not on the day.
• Skip presales if you're not sure about the size: the deposit may not be refunded.
