Is this Yupoo seller legit? 6 signals to check, measured on 222 shops

Updated 01/11/2026

"Is this Yupoo seller legit?", "best Yupoo sellers": the real question is how to judge a shop nobody recommended to you. We won't give you a list of names. On November 1, 2026, we measured across the 222 shops Yupa follows the signals you can check yourself in two minutes, and the ones that should make you walk away.

The short answer

A serious Yupoo seller shows it before you pay: albums posted this month, prices on display, sizes in centimeters, a contact who answers, a Weidian or Taobao link to paste into your agent. On November 1, 2026, out of the 222 shops Yupa follows, 145 had posted an album in the last 30 days, but only 92 showed a price on at least half of their listings. And if a seller wants a bank transfer, crypto or an answer right now, walk away.

What we measured, and how

We don't rate sellers and we won't name anyone, good or bad. But we have one advantage: Yupa reads the public albums of 222 Yupoo shops. On November 1, 2026, that was 1,570,670 listings. Shop by shop, we counted the signals a buyer can check on their own.

These numbers describe what is on display, not anyone's honesty. But the more boxes a shop ticks, the less you're buying blind.

Signal 1: recent albums

On Yupoo, every album shows the date it was posted. That's the first thing to look at: a shop that still posts is a shop that still sells. A shop frozen for a year may have outdated prices and stock.

We have the exact date of 469,782 listings. For the rest, the album number is enough: on Yupoo it follows the order of publication, and on our dated listings it gives the date to within a few days. On November 1, 2026, 145 of 222 shops (65.32%) had posted an album since October 2. At the other end, 24 shops hadn't posted anything in over a year. We don't revisit every shop every day, so this is a minimum: some may have posted since.

  • Open the shop and check the date of the latest albums.
  • A gap of a few weeks isn't necessarily bad (holidays, a change of season). Beyond a few months, ask whether the shop still sells before you order.
  • You find the exact same photos in several shops? Ask for a real photo of the item (see signal 3).

Signal 2: prices on display, and consistent

A posted price is a commitment. 705,453 listings in the catalog, or 44.91%, have a price we could read. But it varies hugely from shop to shop: 92 shops (41.44%) show a price on at least half of their listings, and 55 (24.77%) on none. There, it's "price on request": you have to write to find out, and you can't compare. Out of 20 listings without a price picked at random, one or two actually had a price written in a way our reader misses.

We also leave out 1,300 listings showing a placeholder price like "¥1": that price means nothing. To judge a real price, compare it with the rest of the market. Here's what listings with a price show, at ¥1 = €0.132:

TypeListings10% cost less thanMedian price10% cost more than
Shoes233,478¥168 (€22.18)¥430 (€56.76)¥837.50 (€110.55)
T-shirts142,000¥85 (€11.22)¥118 (€15.58)¥239 (€31.55)
Hoodies and sweaters74,961¥135 (€17.82)¥218 (€28.78)¥454 (€59.93)

The median price of a pair ranges from ¥63 to ¥1,206 depending on the shop (73 shops with at least 30 pairs with a posted price). So a low price isn't proof of a scam, and a high price isn't proof of quality. What should worry you: a price far below all the others for the same kind of item, or a price that changes from one message to the next.

Signal 3: real photos, not just a catalog

Clean photos on a white background can come from anywhere. 实拍 (shí pāi) means "candid photo, not staged or retouched". 出货实拍 are photos taken when the goods ship. The other Chinese words in listings are explained in Yupoo Chinese words: 偏大 means “runs large”, and it shows up 2.5 times more than 偏小.

In the catalog, 3,503 titles contain 实拍, in only 28 shops (12.61%). So the word missing means nothing: most sellers don't write it. Look at the photos themselves instead: a background that changes, a hand, a close-up of a label, a tape measure on the item. If you can't find any, ask the seller for a photo of the piece next to a sheet of paper with today's date on it.

Signal 4: a size chart in centimeters

An "L" means nothing without measurements, especially with Chinese sizes (see Chinese sizes: a medium runs from 96 to 124 cm, here's how to get it right). A serious seller gives at least the list of sizes, and ideally a chart in centimeters: chest width, length, waist, foot length.

On November 1, 2026, 318,660 listings (20.29%) gave the available sizes. 129 shops (58.11%) give them on at least one listing, but only 52 (23.42%) on at least half. Out of 25 listings picked at random, 24 gave a real list of sizes, the last one mixed sizes with a contact number.

  • No chart? Ask for it before you pay, with the measurement that matters to you.
  • Compare with a piece of your own that fits well, measured flat.
  • The seller says "normal size" with no number? Ask again in centimeters.

Signal 5: a contact who answers, and fast

A Yupoo shop has no "buy" button. To ask a question, you need a contact. On November 1, 2026, we found a WhatsApp or WeChat on the home page of 99 shops (44.59%): 87 with WhatsApp, 20 with WeChat. For the others, go through the buy link and your agent.

Chinese platforms measure responsiveness too. Since June 30, 2025, Taobao rates its shops with a "real experience score" (真实体验分) in three parts: product quality, delivery time and service. Service includes, among other things, the share of messages that get a human reply within 3 minutes and how long refunds take.

  • Ask a precise question (a measurement, stock) before ordering, and note how long the answer takes.
  • A vague, copy-pasted reply that doesn't answer your question: bad sign.
  • Keep screenshots of the conversation.

Signal 6: a buy link, and the shop behind it

The most reassuring thing is a link to a Weidian or Taobao page. You paste it into your agent, the agent buys on the platform, and you never pay the seller directly. On November 1, 2026, 386,471 listings (24.61%) had a buy link: 359,587 to Weidian, 26,580 to Taobao and 304 to 1688. 110 shops (49.55%) give one on at least one listing, 76 (34.23%) on at least half. The full process is in How to buy from Yupoo: from album to parcel at your door, in 5 steps.

Open the page before you pay: the price in yuan and the sizes offered should match the album. On Taobao, check the shop's score. A price very different from the album? Ask why.

One more clue: how long the shop has been around

A shop that has been posting for years has a history. Go to the last page of its albums and check the date of the oldest ones. A brand-new shop with thousands of albums at once deserves more questions. It's not a guarantee, just a clue.

What your agent does for you

Going through a shopping agent doesn't make a seller honest, but it changes two things. You pay the agent, not a stranger. And the agent shows you the item when it reaches its warehouse, before international shipping: these are the QC photos. That's where you check the size, the measurements and any defects, and where you can refuse the item. The full method is in QC photos: GL or RL? The checklist before your parcel ships.

For returns, China's consumer protection law (article 25) says an online purchase can be returned without a reason within seven days of receipt, with exceptions such as made-to-order items. Return shipping is normally paid by the buyer. With an agent, its warehouse receives the parcel: answer your QC photos quickly.

Red flags

Some signals are enough on their own to walk away:

  • The seller wants to be paid directly: bank transfer, crypto, gift card or payment app. According to the FTC, the US consumer protection agency, those are exactly the payment methods scammers ask for.
  • They ask for a PayPal "friends and family" payment. PayPal says it itself: personal payments aren't covered by its Purchase Protection.
  • They suggest Western Union. Western Union states that it offers no escrow or buyer protection, and takes no responsibility if the goods never arrive.
  • They rush you: "last piece", "deal ends tonight", "answer now". As the FTC puts it, an honest business gives you time to decide.
  • The price is far below every other shop for the same kind of item.
  • They refuse to give measurements, a real photo or a buy link.

If a seller abroad scammed you, you can report it at econsumer.gov, the site created by the international network of consumer protection agencies (ICPEN). And a serious shop doesn't make a counterfeit item legal: the legal side is covered in Is Yupoo legit or a scam? What the law says, no sugar-coating.

Why we don't give you a "best sellers" list

You typed "best Yupoo sellers" or "yupoo sellers list"? We won't give you a list. A list ages fast: 24 shops in our catalog haven't posted anything in over a year. Some lists are made of referral links, and their author gets a cut of what you spend.

A method, on the other hand, works on any shop, including the one you just found.

Where Yupa fits in

Yupa is a search engine. We read the public albums of 222 Yupoo shops and show, for each listing, the seller's price converted to euros; with the full plan, you also get a link to their album and the buy link when there is one. We sell no items, take no commission and vouch for no seller: we give you what you need to check for yourself. You can also browse the shops one by one at /yupoo.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if a Yupoo seller is legit?

Check six things before you pay: the date of the latest albums, prices on display and close to other shops, real photos, a size chart in centimeters, a contact who answers precisely, and a Weidian or Taobao link to use through your agent.

Is there a list of the best Yupoo sellers?

Yupa doesn't publish one. A list ages fast: on November 1, 2026, 24 of the 222 shops in our catalog hadn't posted anything in over a year.

What does 实拍 mean on a Yupoo album?

"Candid photo", not staged or retouched. 出货实拍 means photos taken when the goods ship. The word is rare: 3,503 titles in 28 shops of the Yupa catalog. It's still the seller's photo, not of your item.

A Yupoo seller wants a bank transfer or crypto. What should I do?

Walk away. The FTC lists bank transfers, crypto, gift cards and payment apps among the methods scammers ask for. Pay through an agent that buys on Weidian or Taobao, never directly to a stranger.

Is a very low price on Yupoo a scam?

Not necessarily: the median price of a pair ranges from ¥63 to ¥1,206 depending on the shop. What should worry you is a price far below all the others for the same kind of item, or a placeholder price like ¥1.

Is a shop without WhatsApp or WeChat a bad sign?

No. On November 1, 2026, 99 of 222 shops showed one of the two on their home page. Without a contact, go through the buy link and your agent.

Does paying through an agent protect me from the seller?

Partly. You pay the agent, not the seller, and it shows you the item in QC photos before shipping: that's when you can refuse it. But the agent doesn't guarantee the item's quality or legality.
